Moved – Tsukiji Market: Huge gill of yellowtail at Yonehana (米花)

Tokyo

Recently, there isn’t a long line in front of Yonehana (米花) on weekdays. Do you see the three people in this picture? Yes, but I took this photo after I had already finished breakfast at Yonehana. When I arrived, there was no one waiting in line.

Of course, I went with the chef’s choice. No need to order—my meal was served automatically.

That day’s main dish was grilled yellowtail gill. The gill is the fattiest part of the yellowtail, and it was incredibly rich and delicious! Naturally, I ate the skin as well. But the portion was enormous.

Boiled vegetables with soy sauce were also included—shiitake mushrooms, burdock root, eggplant, ganmodoki, and more. Though it was packed with nutrients, everything was cut into large pieces!

The meal came with miso soup and pickled daikon radish. Lately, I feel like Yonehana’s pickled daikon has been tasting even better.

It took me about an hour to finish everything. 😅 I wasn’t hungry at lunchtime, so I ended up skipping it.
