I don’t know what is south, and what is west about Indian foods. Anyway, I had lunch at Andhra Kitchen (アーンドラ・キッチン) in Okachimachi area of Tokyo with my friends. They are Southern-Indian foods restaurant.
Speaking of Okachimachi, I went to the sento named “Matsunoyu”(Already closed down) last year. So this is the second time to visit Okachimachi. Because of early-May holiday season(GW), there were a lot of people.
Anyway, we toasted with lassie.
We shared three sets. One was ladies’ lunch set. It have two curry, sambar, dessert, chapati and rice. Two rice can be chosen from some curries. We chose shrimp and chicken. Dessert was sweet yogurt.
The chicken curry was very spicy. Shrimp curry was spicy too, but it had more sourness. I ate sambar after I ate these curries, but I couldn’t find any tastes because those curries were too spicy for me.
And dosa set. Two pieces of wada, dosa, sambar and coconut chutney. Dosa looks like long roll up crepe. Dough was crispy. Fried potatoes and onions with curry flavor were in it. It was spicy and good. I felt chanzai smell just a bit. I heard this doughnuts are eaten with the white sauce. Being at left was doughnuts. But these weren’t sweet. And sambal.
And tandoor set. Tandoori set have one curry. We can choose one from some curries as well as ladies’ set. We chose mutton. It was very spicy, too. And naan was included. The chicken tikka was juicy and good.
This was the first time to eat Southern-Indian curry, but those foods are familiar for me except wada and dosa 🙂
