Bingzan (冰讃) is my go-to spot for mango shaved ice in Taiwan. Their Mango Xue Hua Bing is the best I’ve ever had! Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Shuanglian Station in Taipei, I always stay at a nearby hotel to ensure I can visit whenever I want.
Bingzan is only open during mango season, from late April to mid-October. This seasonal exclusivity makes each visit feel special, knowing I can only enjoy it for a limited time each year.
The shop is incredibly popular with Japanese visitors. Inside, you’ll hear Japanese conversations and see Japanese signage. The staff even take orders in Japanese, although there’s no English menu available.
1.Place Your Order: Head to the cashier and order from the menu.
This is the menu.
2.Pay: Complete your payment
3.Take a Seat: Collect a buzzer and find a seat.
4.Pick Up Your Food: When the buzzer rings, go to the counter to retrieve your order.
5.Return Your Tray: After finishing your meal, return the tray to the shelf near the entrance.
Note: If there’s a waiting line, join it at the end. Even if seats are available, large groups may cause delays.
Sharing is permitted, and it’s common for two people to share one shaved ice. However, large groups sharing a single dish may create seating issues for others, so be mindful of this.
Snow ice with mango. This is Bingzan’s signature dish and a must-try. The snow ice is topped with freshly cut mango, mango sauce, and condensed milk. The mango is cut to order, ensuring it’s always fresh and juicy.
The smooth, fluffy texture of snow ice is easier on sensitive stomachs compared to regular ice. For an extra 10 TWD, I recommend adding their homemade pudding for a sweet, creamy touch.
Shaved ice with mango. This version uses pure ice instead of snow ice. While delicious, it can be too cold for sensitive stomachs. Like the snow ice, it’s topped with mango, condensed milk, and mango sauce.
Adding pudding (10 TWD) is also a great option.
Snow ice with two fruits. This allows you to choose two fruits. I picked mango and watermelon.
While the watermelon was sweet and refreshing, the mango’s bold flavor overshadowed it. If you’re craving mango, I recommend sticking with the mango-only option.
