Belated happy new year ! I’m spending New Year holidays in my new house. I already accustomed to my new house and try some shops and restaurants! Fukuwauchi Iwase (二九八家いわせ) is a ramen shop and located approximately 20 minutes walk from the closest station. Though it’s not convenient location, there are many people waiting even in earlier time. Fukuwauchi means “Hapiness come in !”. There’s a door on the left.
You can find a ticket vending machine as soon as you open the door on the left. All button is soy sauce based ramen. But they accept miso or spicy ramen plus 50 yen each. They have long counter seats.
This shop is managed by a son of former ramen shop. His parents quit their shop and he started his shop. He trained at Menya Musashi (麺屋武蔵).
I chose Fukuwauchi ramen when I visited there for the first time. Fukuwauchi ramen is gorgeous one. It have boiled egg with soy sauce, green onion, menma, laver and stew of cubed meat.
The soup is based on soy sauce and it have plenty of back fats of pork (=seabura). It looks fatty ? No. Though it have much fats, somehow it have light tastes 🙂
Curly noodles. Its texture was like Korean cold noodles. I like it.
Stew of cubed meat. There’re three cubes of it ! Though it was simmered and tasty, I felt fill while eating second cubed meat !
There’re seasonings on the table. From left to right, grated garlic, Doubanjiang (spicy miso) and Fukuwauchi special sauce (spicy). Fukuwauchi special sauce is flavory. Not just spicy. It went with Fukuwauchi ramen well.
To tell the truth, it’s too much for me. I don’t need three pieces of such a large meat. So, I ordered miso ramen with green onion next time. It don’t have “Fukuwauchi” on its name. So, it’s simple. But still one large meat is in it. It’s enough for me. Also miso ramen have much pork back fats. I like it.
They sell ramen for cooking at home, too 🙂 1800 yen for three persons.

Hi Ryoko,
I wanted to thank you for your blog. I really enjoy reading. I just moved to Japan, Yachiyo in Chiba, and am already making a list of restaurants to visit from your blog. (have already visited Ippei in Funabashi twice on earlier visits.)
