Quit hotel business until 2025 – [Nasu Shiobara] One-night trip to Matsukawaya Nasukogen Hotel (松川屋那須高原ホテル)

TOCHIGI (Nasu etc)

I wanted to feel relax with onsen, so I had one-night trip to Nasu Shiobara onsen with my mother. We got to Nasu Shiobara station by Shinkansen. And our hotel brought us to the hotel by bus. It took near 90 minutes to the hotel. It took more time than expected. We were tired. This is the hotel. Matsukawaya Nasukogen Hotel (松川屋那須高原ホテル).

As soon as we got to the hotel, I took onsen bath. I was there for that ! My mother was relaxed in the room for while.

No one was there when we entered into the bath room.

The indoor bath was filled with white onsen water. This onsen water is sulfur spring. I love sulfur spring.

This hotel get famous onsen water from outside that is named “Shika-no-yu(鹿の湯). This onsen water is the oldest discovered onsen water around Nasu. Shika-no-yu means “deer’s water”.

It is deprived that a deer soaked his body to healed his wound in ancient times. Open-air bath, too. Because the hotel is on a hill, the open-air bath commands a fine view 🙂

Our room. No.505

View out of the window wasn’t good. But we understood because we took very inexpensive plan.

Our dinner was served in our room. Though we took a inexpensive plan, as a while, tasted good, especially, sukiyaki. Though the meat was tough and chewy.

And the next day’s morning. It’s our breakfast.

Those dishes were not bad. But I wasn’t satisfied with the breakfast because it didn’t have fish. I need fish in the morning. I walked around the hotel after breakfast. There’s a small red shrine was in front of the hotel. It’s Inari shrine.

I found Onsen Jinja shrine (温泉神社), I regretted that I didn’t bring my gosyuincho. But I dropped in at the shrine. I went up the long stairs.

I looked my back. But still I had to keep going the stairs. Snow remained yet.
Left‐right symmetry… 🙂

Finally, cyozuya (hand-wash place) welcomed me.

Worship hall

Sazare-ishi (Pebbles) The notice said it is the stone of Japan’s national anthem.

Sacred tree. Huge.

I wanted to go over there, but I couldn’t go because my shoes slipped on the snow.

After that I went back to the hotel and checked out in time for the bus to Nasu-shiobara station. At one-night trip, the time pass very fast. I want to stay more long next time.
