Moved – [Tsukiji Market] Ayu karaage at Tonkatsu Yachiyo (とんかつ八千代)

I had breakfast at Tsukiji Market after half a month absence the day before yesterday. I wanted to have deep fried foods, so I entered into Tonkatsu Yachiyo (とんかつ八千代) without hesitation.

Probably this was the second time to visit Yachiyo. I knew Yachiyo serve ayu karaage in this season by another blog and I wanted to eat it. So, I confirmed that there was the word “Ayu karaage” on the menus, and said to the staff, “One ayu karaage dish and rice, please.”

The waitress said, “The dish have two ayu. Is that OK ?”. I thought her saying means “Can you eat as many as two ayu ?”. So, I said “OK. No problem” with a light heart. I checked the menus on the walls while waiting. Pike conger (hamo) has taken place of oyster because it getting warmer.

After a while, my ayu karaage set was served.

Umm. Those were very small. I understood her saying “Is that OK ?” means “Is that enough ?”. It couldn’t be helped.

Ayu is called sweetfish in English. It’s common fish in East Asian area. Those ayu karaage was entirely fried. So, I could eat everything from its head to tail. I felt fresh bitterness in my mouth when I bite its head. It’s sooo tasty. I needed more.

Lots of vegetables were on the plate. I usually leave shredded cabbage on my dish at restaurants. Well, Tsukiji also serve good vegetables. I could eat up. And I also could eat parsley. Coleslaw was good, too. I’ll visit the eatery soon again. I want to eat pike conger next time.
