Because the ticket between Tokyo and Takamatsu was very inexpensive, so I went to Takamatsu to eat udon by myself. I went straight to Udon Ippuku (うどん一福) with my baggage from Takamatsu airport. I was impressed by the tastes of their hiyakake. So, I wanted to visit there again. But I took 8 years to visit there again. Though I visited Takamatsu a few years ago, I couldn’t visit there because it was only one-night trip and they are open at lunchtime only. There’s a door along the road, but it’s for exit. The entrance is t the back of the house (around the tree on the right).
Kagawa Ippuku in Tokyo was open as their branch, but now they are unrelated now. Their closest station is Hashioka station (JR Yosan line). It takes about 10 minutes walk from the station to the shop. It’s easy. You have only to walk straight from the station. But the pavement is narrow. So you have to be careful with cars. Oh, Hashioka station is now unstaffed station.
Onigiri (rice cake) welcome you as soon as you open the door. And there’s a order counter. So, at first, if you want onigiri, you take some on the tray then order your udon. And there’s tempura and oden. If you need, you take some as well as onigiri. And then you take seats where you like after payment. It’s as same as food court.
There’s a condiment bar in front of the order counter. Green onion, tenkasu, grated daikon radish, ginger, citrus and so on.
Seasonings are on the tables.
Menu. Prices go higher and higher. So those prices are for your information. The amount of noodles can be chosen from one to three. Many people order one portion. Big eater order some udon by one portion. They have some seasonal udon like sudachi udon in summer.
I was impressed by the tastes of hiyakake last time. Hiyakake is cold kake udon. But the weather was unusually cold, so I had warm kake udon. Nothing has changed about the looking between warm and cold kake udon. Good.
I missed you ! The udon was rather narrow. And it had smooth texture. It went down smoothly. Also the soup stock based on niboshi was mild and good. But cold kake was far better than warm kake. It’s bland a bit.
So, green onion and ginger was helpful. Though this warm udon was enough good. But the cold udon was excellent.
I also ordered boiled egg tempura. I ate it last time, too. It’s my delight. Because their tempura is not freshly cooked, it’s good to put tempura into the soup. The egg tempura having plenty of soup stock is delicious.
