This time, I decided to stay in Karatsu Daiichi Hotel (唐津第一ホテル) during my trip in Karatsu because it was affordable with breakfast included, and it’s within walking distance to see the night-lit Karatsu Castle.
The Somewhat old-fashioned appearance and the name gave a comforting vibe. It’s a rather simple hotel, but very clean.
It’s about a 10-minute relaxed walk from JR Karatsu Station. The walk to Karatsu Castle takes around 20 minutes, and Rainbow Pine Grove is also within walking distance.
The hallway on the room floor. I stayed in a single room this time. It’s an older building, but it’s been nicely renovated, so it doesn’t feel dated. There’s also a hotel in the same group near the sea called Karatsu Daiichi Hotel Liber, which has more of a resort vibe. In contrast, this one feels like a typical business hotel. There were two microwaves by the elevator.
Hangers and a mirror are located here.
The room is spacious enough for a solo stay, with a rack to place luggage, which was very useful. It’s inconvenient if there’s no such rack.
Desk. It has a fairly large TV, a refrigerator, and a kettle. There’s also a humidifier and air purifier.
A set of pajamas was placed on the bed.
Unit bath.
The view from the room, where you can see a temple 🙂
There didn’t seem to be any breakfast ticket. Breakfast is automatically included for all guests. There are about 30 seats. I went early, and soon after, people started arriving one after another, filling up the seats quickly.
It’s a compact breakfast space. There’s bread, rice balls, a few breakfast sides, vegetable juice, and coffee. It’s suited for those who just want a light breakfast rather than a big meal.
The rice ball machine. The rice was quite soft.
My breakfast – rice balls, bread, miso soup, yogurt, a boiled egg, and vegetable juice. After breakfast, I enjoyed a cup of coffee.
