[Tokyo] Coffee in Edo Kiriko cup and cakes at Sumida coffee (すみだ珈琲) in Kinshicho

Tokyo

Sumida Coffee (すみだ珈琲) is one of my delight cafe in Kinshicho. Though they are located far from the station, it’s worth to come. They are small in a restored old house.

They buy about six kinds of coffee beans from all over the world those varieties. Of course, their coffee is good. But what most attract us is this cup. Guests can drink coffee with glass that is named “Edo-Kiriko”. Edo-Kiriko is  a glass craft that has been handed down in Tokyo. Of course, it is heat‐resistant glass. Left is nuts tart. It was crispy and tasty.

Nuts tart (ナッツのタルト)

So beautiful. My coffee was from East Timor. Second helping is 200 yen (only one time).

Coffee from Letefoho in East Timor (東ティモール・レテフォホ地区) 400 yen

They have always about 5-7 cakes. They make those cakes in the shop. It cost 350 yen each.

This is a standard cheesecake. My friend ordered. His drink was mango lassie. This cheesecake tasted very good. So rich cheese taste !

Also the glass for water was nice !

My glass after drinking. This pattern is named “Shippo (七宝)”. Shippo is a types of geometric design combining four ellipses in a circle in a way that the lines inside make more circles.

Well,Sumida Coffee sell those glasses, and I saw its price. About ten thousand yen !! OH ! Umm. I don’t wash ten thousand yen glass at home :p
