Tsukiji : Mitsumame and Oshiruko at Tenmame (天まめ)

New wagashi shop has opened at the back street of Tsukiji. My friends who are Tsukiji-holic are already regular customer :p

Appearance, Tenmame (Tsukiji) — 築地の路地裏にこっそり新しいお店がオープンしていましたヽ(´ー｀)ノ

The shop is named Tenmame. It have only some seats in front of counter table and a table for two person. So small shop.

Interior, Tenmame (Tsukiji) — とっても小さいお店。そしてキレイ（`･ω･´）

I heard that they serve mitsumame (boiled beans, agar‐agar cubes and other delicacies in sugar syrup) and oshiruko (red bean soup).
This shop calls their mitsumame “Tenmame (てんまめ)”. Yeah, Tenmame is their shop’s name !

We ordered a oshiruko and a tenmame.
At first, this dish came. It was a vinegared dish. I wasn’t in good spirits because we went to the shop for eating sweets…
Well, but the radish had crunchy texture and tasted good.

Vinegared vegetables, Tenmame (Tsukiji) — お汁粉注文したら、予想もしない、酢のものが出てきてびっくりしました。

Why such a sour foods come before sweets ?

Well.

Oshiruko (お汁粉) 680 yen

Oshiruko, Tenmame (Tsukiji) — お汁粉。あまーいので、脇の昆布が貴重(ﾉ∀`)

Tenmame (てんまめ) 780 yen

Tenmame, Tenmame (Tsukiji) — さすが、最高級の神津島産！なプリプリのかんてん(･∀･)

Those sweets are so sweet. Those anko was sweet.
And there was a pickled kelp side of oshiruko. Especially, the oshiruko was too sweet to eat up without kelp 😛

Agar‐agar cubes were soooo tasty because those were made from highest grade agar-agar caught in Kouzushima island. Springy and springy !

Tenmame can be brought away. So I want to go there again to buy some tenmame to home 🙂

I tried anmitsu when I was in Tokyo back in 2012 (the Minamoto Kitchoan café one stair up in Ginza), -I think it’s a acquired taste:) I like sweet bean paste, but the jelly is not really for me:)

Cheers for liking my post about Egypt, Ryoko! Ah yes, oshiruko…sou ieba, I think I remember first hearing about that dessert in the movie Tampopo!
