I heard that Hida Takayama is home to the second most popular hamburger shop in Japan. We visited there at dinner time. The restaurant is called Center 4 Hamburgers, and its most popular dish is the Hida beef hamburger! It is the only hamburger shop in Hida Takayama.
The restaurant is quite small, but reservations can be made in advance for dinner. It’s a cozy and pleasant place. The staff prefers that guests only take photos of food, so I refrained from taking pictures of the interior.
By the way, they occasionally close temporarily, so it’s a good idea to check their Facebook or Instagram for updates before visiting. Closed days are marked with a pink square.
I ordered the Liver pate hamburger.
The beef patty and liver pâté made for a delicious combination.
This is the Hida beef hamburger, which comes with pickles and fried potatoes. The 100% Hida beef patty, seasoned simply with salt and pepper, tastes like steak. It’s available in limited quantities, so if you want to try it, it’s best to visit as soon as they open.
The Onion ring were crisp and delicious, perfect for sharing with at least two people.
I think their hamburgers and onion rings pair wonderfully with the variety of beers they have in stock.
