I had been searching for a good place to take a coffee break between Kayabacho and Morishita for quite some time, and I finally found one in Hamacho! The cafe is called Come to Life Espresso ! They welcome dogs, so if you’re allergic, you should be cautious.
The ceiling is decorated with leaves, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The seating is limited, with three chairs along the counter and two tables inside, plus a bench outside. The focus is mainly on coffee, though they also offer a few sweet items. On my visit, they had panna cotta and cookies. The cookies cost 100 yen each. While the seating might not be ideal for long stays, the cozy vibe is perfect for a short visit.
The coffee is brewed fresh after you place your order, which results in a rich and full flavor. I ordered an iced cafe latte with a cookie. The cookie was not too sweet, and the nuts added a nice flavor. It was the perfect treat after lunch.
I usually avoid cold drinks, even in the middle of summer, because my stomach is sensitive to cold. However, it was exceptionally hot that day, so I decided to go for it. They pour the espresso directly onto the ice, and recommend drinking it without mixing so that you can experience the changing flavors as the ice melts. The coffee remains rich and flavorful, even after all the ice has melted. It was delicious to the last drop!
I’m so happy to have discovered such a great cafe!
