Closed – [Tsukiji Market] Boiled anglerfish with soy sauce at Washoku Katou (和食かとう)

Tokyo

I went to Washoku Katou (和食かとう) in Tsukiji Market to eat simmered anglerfish with soy sauce the other day.

I already ate anglerfish at Takahashi(高はし) last November this season. But Takahashi serves anglerfish in higher price than Katou. Of course their serving anglerfish differs in quality, too. Well, Kato’s boiling soup is thicker than Takahashi’s.

Simmered anglerfish with its liver with soy sauce (あんこう煮) 1800 yen

I like Katou’s better than Takahashi’s because rice goes with the thick taste. I eat them with rice for breakfast. And Katou’s dish had much kinds of parts than Takahashi’s. So Kato’s have fisher smell a little, though I like the smell and its tastes.

There’re lots of people who hate anglerfish because of its fisher smell. Takahashi never use parts of anglerfish that have strong smell for anglerfish dishes s that people who don’t like anglerfish can eat. That’s why when you eat anglerfish for the first time, you should eat at Takahashi, in Tsukiji Market.

I have never had angler fish (it looks really scary with big teeth right?), but it sounds interesting:)
By the way: I love your new blog design:)
