I went straight to Kawase (かわせ) close to Yanagibashi market for lunch just after landed on Nagoya by Shinkansen. They are located on the ground floor of this building named “Ekimae Yokocho”. This building is attracting. It’s walking distance from Nagoya station.
The alley is so narrow like the bed for eel. Kawase is located at the center of the alley. Their lunch time is available on weekdays only.
Lunch menu. Their specialty is beef tongue. Of course, they serve beef tongue at dinner time, but the lunch set is valuable. No.1 is beef tongue set (牛タン定食) all the same.
So, I ordered 1.5 portion of beef tongue set. One portion is 1750 yen. This set have hiyayakko (cold tofu), miso soup and rice. Large helping of rice is free of charge.
Beef tongue. They grill thick beef tongue by charcoal-grilling facility and then cut in rectangles. It’s seasoned with salt and pepper lightly. So, we can enjoy the tastes of the meat clearly. Its inside is medium rare. It have sliced lemon, so I squeezed.
Umm. It go with rice, but I wanted to enjoy it with alcoholic drinks :p I need to go there again at dinner time.
We can enjoy those beef tongue and another foods with alcoholic drinks at dinner time. I think many people who ate it at lunchtime visit there again at dinner time. The temperature in the restaurant is hot because they keep grilling.
