When it comes to Komeda Coffee (or Komeda’s Coffee / コメダ珈琲店), it’s known for its its surprisingly large portions—and that left a bit of a lasting impression on me having small stomach. Still, I recently tried their morning service, which includes toast and an egg with any drink. I’ve had their morning set before at an ‘Old Komeda’ in Nagoya, but this was my first time at a ‘regular’ Komeda.

Shinozaki Branch Experience: I visited around 9 AM, and it was already nearly full! Even on a weekend, the crowd—mostly families and groups—was impressive, though it’s near the station.
The counter seats by the window were spacious and separated from the larger tables, offering a peaceful spot for solo visitors.

I chose a single table equipped with power outlets and Wi-Fi—perfect for getting some work done. Komeda’s rule is simple: order at least one item every two hours. Two hours? Sounds generous! 😆

Morning Set (Website): Their morning service, available until 11 AM, includes a free side with every drink. You can choose from three options, with extras available for an additional charge. The loaf bread (roaf pan) is limited and switches to standard shokupan once it runs out—but even at 10 AM, I still saw people ordering it.

My Picks: I chose milk coffee, loaf bread with strawberry jam, and a boiled egg. The egg was hot, and the loaf bread—warm, fluffy, and pre-spread with jam—had a texture similar to their famous Danish pastry, Shiro Noir.

The milk coffee (600 yen) was comforting with its creamy sweetness. I did regret not upgrading to a large size for just +100 yen, especially since I planned to linger. Next time for sure! 🎵

Second Visit (One Week Later): Yes, I came back! This time, I chose shokupan with butter, a boiled egg, and an au lait float (700 yen). I think I’m hooked on Komeda’s morning!
