Nemuro Hanamaru (根室花まる) has opened a new stand-up sushi restaurant in Kinshicho area! I’ve already visited several times and really enjoyed it. Nemuro Hanamaru offers two types of restaurants: conveyor belt sushi and stand-up sushi. This location is a stand-up sushi restaurant located on the ground floor of Termina 1, directly connected to JR Kinshicho Station. The space accommodates about 15 people, creating a cozy and casual dining experience.
One of the highlights of this branch is its convenience and comfort. Unlike the Tokyu Plaza Ginza location, which is situated along a busy alleyway, this Kinshicho branch offers a more relaxed environment. Sushi boxes are also sold at the entrance, perfect for takeout.
What could be better than pairing fresh sushi with a cold beer? I love that I can take my time and enjoy this simple pleasure at this location.
Keep in mind their operating hours: while they stay open throughout the weekend, they close for an hour from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on weekdays. The restaurant is located near South Gate of Kinshicho Station, making it easy to find.
The menu is straightforward, with prices ranging from ¥120 to ¥370 per piece. Recommended items are marked in red, so if you’re unsure what to order, those are a great place to start.
They also offer seasonal specialties and soup. During my visit, the soft roe (まだち) was the featured item.
And another, they have such a valuable sets. Those have 3 or 5 pieces of sushi.
I ordered the Matsu Set (松, ¥1,320), which included cold yellowtail, ginpo (tidepool gunnel), and chu-toro (medium-fatty tuna). The sushi pieces were generously sized and incredibly fresh. The yellowtail, in particular, was outstanding.
Left is ginpo. Ginpo is caught in Hokkaido area and it’s not common fish in Tokyo. But mostly Nemuro Hanamaru serve it ! I’m glad. It had crunchy texture. The herring was unexpectedly not so fatty. It had springy texture and was good.
Komai’s roe. Komai is saffron cod and written “氷下魚”. I love it.
I also tried the Hanasaki Set, which included soft roe, a two-layered scallop, and komai’s roe (from saffron cod). The scallop was sweet and tender—so delicious that I savored it in two bites: first, just the scallop, and then with the rice.
This soft roe itself was good, but I don’t need pepper powder on it.
Before leaving, I couldn’t resist adding a few extras:
Squid – It had a sticky, satisfying texture.
Salmon Roe – This is a must-order if you visit Nemuro Hanamaru!
Sujiko has a richer flavor than ikura, so if you love ikura, I highly recommend giving sujiko a try.
Though I wanted to have raw shrimp, they were out of stock, so I ordered boiled shrimp instead. It was sweet, flavorful, and had a nice, springy texture!
This new Kinshicho location is perfect for sushi lovers who want a quick and comfortable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
