I visited Taipei after a few years away and noticed many new boba tea shops had opened. WOOTEA (五桐號) was one of the shops that caught my attention, so, I decided to try their boba tea. I went to a branch located in front of Zhongshan Station.
The shop next door also seemed quite popular.
This is their menu. I tried to look at it while ordering, but there was no menu displayed at the cashier. I was a bit lost until the staff, realizing I was a foreign tourist, handed me a menu. They don’t typically understand English or Japanese, but they explained that 杏仁凍五桐茶 is their most popular drink. It’s a tea with almond jelly.
I ordered 太妃珍珠蜜春奶茶, which is boba tea with honey. I chose medium sweetness, which was just right for me because the honey made it sweet enough.
When I visited, they served the tea in a simple cup, but now they offer adorable cups featuring Chiikawa designs.
