Lately, I’ve struggled to wake up early, but the other day, I managed to get up and visit Tsukiji. My goal? To try the limited-time asari clam ramen served from April to September at Yajima (やじ満).
Yajima offers asari clam ramen from April to September and oyster ramen from October to March. I visited in March for the oyster ramen, so I was excited to try the summer specialty this time.
Here’s the asari clam ramen. It featured about six large clams, and the soup was packed with the rich flavor of clam extract. The light yet flavorful salted broth combined the essence of clams, vegetables, and a touch of butter. It was simply delicious.
The noodles were thin and paired perfectly with the broth, enhancing the overall experience.
Interestingly, no one else ordered the clam ramen while I was there. Most customers were enjoying hiyashi chuka, even though it was already September. 😛
